Russian space spending

In recent years Russia has substantially increased the money for the space. In 2011 the Russian space agency Roskosmos increased its budget by 11.5% , reached 75.8 billion rubles (about 1900 million or 2700 million). It is true that Russia has experienced high inflation in recent years (5% -7%), but the trend is clear. The increase is particularly dramatic when you consider that four years ago Roskosmos had only 24.4 billion rubles (848 million dollars).

The Russian government intends to increase the budget in coming years Roskosmos. For 2013 is expected to reach the 4150 million dollars, and that despite the crisis. Roskosmos addition, the federal government has devoted enormous resources to rebuild the global positioning system GLONASS. In fact, until last year's budget GLONASS was about half of the intended Roskosmos, which has allowed Russia has almost completed the current constellation of GLONASS-M satellites at the same time they have begun testing the new GLONASS-K . In the coming years is expected to decrease spending in the GLONASS as more money for the new cosmodrome Vostochni. Although GLONASS is a separate program, it should be noted that Roskosmos participates in it with a 39.84%. It also contributes to 35% in the program for the development of Vostochni. Because of these shares, the total money that is actually handled Roskosmos considerably higher, with 87.536 billion rubles.

The Roskomos budget increase in this decade is more necessary than ever if the Russian space agency wants to develop Rus-M rocket and the spacecraft PPTS, replacement for the Soyuz, while maintaining and expanding the segment Russian ISS.
